The existing system of yellow, orange and red weather warnings is to be replaced in 2024, Met Éireann has announced.
Head of Forecasting Evelyn Cusack made the announcement stating “the existing system was causing unintended alarm. We received reports of people stockpiling toilet rolls and cancelling appointments due to yellow warnings.
