Local man Sid Taylor is set to become the next darts sensation, according to texts he has sent friends and family.
Taylor (45) is understood to be impressed by the meteoric rise of sixteen year old Luke Littler to the World Darts Championship final.
“I’m having a bit of that,” Taylor told DTTN. “If a 16 year old kid can get this far then imagine what a man of my experience could do.”
Taylor, who once finished seventh in his local pub’s annual darts tournament, has already begun a gruelling training regime to ensure success.
“The darts lads like a pint and a burger,” said Taylor. “The secret to success seems to be cultivating mass, so I’m off out the local and the chipper every night. These are the sacrifices you have to make to get to the top.”
When asked how he would develop the incredible hand-eye co-ordination and powers of concentration shown by elite darts players Taylor was unperturbed.
“It’s just like playing down the pub. The more I drink, the closer I get to hitting the board. I’m not stopping now.”
Taylor has not yet picked his entrance music but is understood to have whittled the choice down to Simply the Best by Tina Turner or anything by Queen.
