The British government has been rocked by further controversy, with supporters furious that asylum seekers will be enjoying free trips to Rwanda funded by tax-payers money.
The Rwanda Bill, which proposes sending all asylum seekers presenting to the UK to Rwanda, has proven hugely controversial due to human rights concerns.
However, Tory supporters have blasted the bill that will give asylum seekers all expenses paid jollies at top Rwandan resorts.
“It’s a disgrace,” said one comment on The Daily Mail website. “The government ain’t never paid for my two weeks in Magaluf, but these people just turn up and expect a free trip abroad. It stinks.”
“Rwanda should be a local destination for local people,” said another comment, of the landlocked African country with a dubious human rights record. “I’ve seen footage of their beach resorts with the all-inclusive drinks. Why can’t I have that?”
“If they can do me an egg and chip and a copy of The Sun then I’d be all for a free week in Rwanda,” said another comment. “I don’t like the foreign food, or the foreigners. If they can sort that out I’ll happily go.”
Tory sources stated that the government currently had no plans to round up any UK citizens for a free one-way trip to Rwanda, but that future plans may change.
