A local woman is counting the cost after falling for a phone text scam yet again.
Cathy Credulous (54), who received a text stating she had not paid a toll for her journey on the M50 despite not being in Dublin since 1998, is now down another 200 Euro.
“They’ve all had a go off me,” said Credulous. “Eir wanted money to not cut off my account, I owed Bank of Ireland charges, even though I’m not a customer with either of them. It’s very confusing.
Then my daughter texted me saying she’d lost her phone and needed money, but she’s denied it to my face. I just can’t trust her anymore since she got those college notions.
She said it was a scam, but these people have my number, so it must be true. I consulted my psychic, I’m a Pisces, and they told me that this would be a financially challenging month, but they sold me a precious amulet to put on the windowsill to attract abundance for spring.”
Credulous’ daughter has attempted to confiscate her smartphone, but the veteran librarian is having none of it.
“I’m an honest citizen and I’ll continue pay my bills, whether they are real or not.”
