A Taylor Swift fan has tragically died after spontaneously combusting.
The incident occurred after the singer released a surprise additional 15 tracks for a double edition of her new album The Tortured Poets Department in the early hours of Friday morning.
Mega ‘Swiftie’ Coco Corcoran (19) was listening to the album with friends when news of the additional tracks broke.
“It was awful,” said one friend. “One minute we were all singing along to Fortnight, the next thing we know charred bits of Coco were all over the room. My top was ruined.”
Corcoran, who had seen Swift in concert over 20 times, emitted a high-pitched squeal when she spotted the notification on her phone. Witnesses say her face grew redder and redder until she simply blew up.
“We tried to tell her to shake it off,” said another friend, “but it was too late. It’s such a tragedy she’ll never get to listen to The Anthology.”
“Coco had VIP tickets for Taylor’s Dublin gigs in June. I know she’d want me to have them,” said a third friend.
The HSE has issued a statement warning Swifties around the country to remember to breathe and to keep a window open while listening to The Tortured Poets Department.
