US Police launch unique African-American employment drive

Police forces across the US have united to offer a unique new employment opportunity to African-Americans.

Project Human Target calls for hundreds of African-Americans to be enrolled to act as targets and decoys during scenario based gun range training.

“Our budgets have been shot to ribbons by Covid,” said a police spokesperson “and our old targets are getting pretty worn.  Reinforced cardboard doesn’t age well.”

Under the scheme, eligible African-Americans will replace worn-out old targets, providing valuable shooting practice for new police recruits. DTTN understands that these are minimum wage positions.

“It’s an exciting opportunity for African-Americans to get their start with law enforcement,” said the spokesperson. “Sure, there’s an element of danger – they won’t know if they’re a goodie or a baddie, and some of our cadets can be a bit trigger happy. Our officers face worse every day.”

The spokesperson stressed that every precaution would be taken to ensure the safety of new recruits.

“They’ll be able to purchase their own bullet proof vest at registration. We had debated allowing them access to firearms, but that just seems reckless. These recruits need to learn the power of weapons before they fire one.”

To date zero African-Americans have signed up for Project Human Target.
