A local man’s life has been plunged into disarray after his phone was hacked by the government’s Covid tracking app.
Willie Wanderer (42), claims that the app’s sinister behaviour has left his marriage hanging by a tread, after covertly registering him for a number of dating sites.
“I’m a conscientious citizen, so I downloaded the app straight away. No one wants to fight Covid-19 more than I do.
My wife borrowed the phone to check it out and I couldn’t have been more shocked at what she found.”
Wanderer was dismayed to discover his phone had signed him up for several dating sites including Tinder and Ashley Madison.
“It was grotesque. Not only had it signed up, but it had created detailed profiles and sent explicit messages to a number of attractive women.”
Worse was to come when Wanderer realised the phone had taken and sent unsolicited dick pictures to said women.
“It’s no coincidence that this all happened after I downloaded the Covid Tracker. It must have remotely accessed my phone and taken those pics while I was asleep. The invasion of privacy is shocking.”
Wanderer has since uninstalled the app, but is not understood to be pursuing legal action at this time.
