Mattel launching new range of Covid inspired Barbies

Mattel has today announced the exciting launch of a range of Covid-19 inspired Barbie dolls.

The move is part of Mattel’s ongoing commitment to making Barbie a more realistic role model for young girls.

“Women around the world are suffering due to Covid-19 and we want them to know that Barbie shares their pain,” said a Mattel spokesman.

Amongst the range, which are sure to be Christmas best-sellers, is Drinking Too Much Barbie.

“Drinking Too Much Barbie is a little bit scared, a little bit disillusioned. She comes with her own slightly frayed dressing gown and bottle of wine.”

Working From Home Barbie comes with an in built camera for young girls to experience the stress of incessant Zoom conference calls and an I Love Work coffee cup.

Sciencey Barbie comes with a lab coat and credit card.

“Sciencey Barbie is doing her bit to eliminate Covid, but still finds time for fabulous shopping sprees while the boys stay back in the lab,” said the spokesman.

And everyone’s favourite genital free male doll is getting in on the act too.

“Furloughed Ken comes with a sense of defeated apathy and an endless supply of bills. This collection is going to be great fun for all the family.”

The Mattel Covid-19 Barbie collection launches this October.
