Die Hard featured Bruce Willis as John McClane, crawling around Nakatomi Towers to save his wife, and other hostages, from the evil clutches of Alan Rickman’s terrorist Hans Gruber.
And one local man just can’t stop recreating the film’s iconic scenes, much to the detriment of his family Christmas celebrations.
Timmy Tommy (38) has spent the last five Christmases stripped to his vest and boxers crawling around the attic of his family home.
“It’s the same every year,” said Tommy’s long suffering wife Tina. “He starts drinking early, then the clothes come off and he’s in the attic for the rest of the day with the air rifle.
Last year he even dressed the dog in a suit and little beard to make him look like Alan Rickman.”
Tina told DTTN that she attempts to shield the couple’s two children from the madness by setting them down to watch Elf or Willy Wonka, but “Timmy always bursts in the door shooting at them, yelling ‘Yippee-ki-yay motherfuckers!’”
“They’re not even old enough to watch Die Hard. It scares the shit out of them,” said Tina. “I’ve warned him if he does it again this year I’ll be filing for divorce.”
